India E-Visa Validity

The duration of time you can stay in India will rely on the type of e-visa you apply for. If you applied for an e-Tourist visa, you will be permitted a continuous stay of up to 90 days.

However, if you are a national of the U.S, U.K, Canada, and Japan, you will be allowed a continuous stay of up to 180 days.

The e-medical companion and the e-medical patient visas are only valid for 60 days. Neither of these e-visas can be extended. Once you have visited India, it is valid for the indicated period of time. Obtaining the e-visa to India is a simple process.

Nationals of 166 countries can fill out an online application with their personal information, contact information, and passport data. As a candidate, all you require is a valid email address, a passport, and a credit or debit card to pay the costs of the e-visa.

When obtaining an India e-visa your passport has to be valid for a minimum of six months from your intended date of arrival in the country. Getting an e-visa for India has several benefits; applicants do not have to go to an embassy. The application is easy and simple to fill out.

Nonetheless, it is recommended that you review your answers before lodging the application. Even typos or minor mistakes can get an e-visa application rejected.

India tourist and business e-visas are valid for one year from the date of electronic approval. Tourist and business e-visa bearers may visit India multiple times, with duration of up to ninety days for tourism and up to 180 days for business purposes.

Medical e-visas are valid for up sixty days from the day you enter into India. Triple entry will be allowed on e-Medical visas.

Tourist E-Visa validity dates

1. A single entry visa is valid for thirty days from the day it was granted and has duration of up to 30 days.

2. A double entry visa is valid for 60days from the day it was granted and has duration of up to 90 days per entry.

3. A multiple-entry visa is valid for five years from the day it was granted and has duration of up 90 to 180 days per entry.

Business Indian e-visa validity date: is valid for multiple-entries, good for one year from the day it was granted, and has duration of up to 180 days per entry.

The Medical Indian e-visa validity date: this has a validity of sixty days from the day it was granted and allows triple-entry.

The Conference Indian e-visa validity dates: This visa is valid for thirty days from the date it was granted and valid for a single-entry only. An e-Conference Visa can only be obtained if you are participating in a Government Sponsored Conference.

The India e-visa application must be lodged no later than four days before departure for India. Once granted on arrival the e-visa is not extendable, not convertible, and not valid for traveling to protected/restricted and Cantonment zones.

A traditional visa is valid ten years from the day it was granted and has duration of up to 180 days, and it is good for multiple entries into India. Your physical passport and supporting documents are required for this type of visa and need to be submitted to the Indian Embassy for processing.

Although it is more difficult to obtain, this option is best if you need more than one entry into India.

What travel purposes does India grant e-visas for?

The e-tourist visa is for foreign visitors whose purpose of traveling to India is for tourism, recreation, sight-Seeing, visiting relatives or friends, and short Term yoga program.

The e-business visa is for foreign visitors whose purpose of traveling to India is for business meetings, to set up business venture, sales, trade, attended exhibitions and trade fairs, to recruit manpower, and to deliver lectures under the Global Initiative for Academic Networks.

The e-Medical Visa is for foreign visitors whose purpose of coming to India is to receive short-term medical treatment.

The e-Conference visa can only be obtained if you are visiting for a Government Sponsored Conference, privately hosted or sponsored conferences do not qualify for an e-Conference Visa, hence you should obtain a traditional stamped visa.
